The Institute for International Studies is pleased to announce a full-day workshop on Friday, April 19th:
SCALES OF WATER MANAGEMENT

sponsored by the interdisciplinary faculty seminar, 

Adaptation to Variability: Water Management in Mediterranean Climates
The workshop will explore how scale affects water resource decision-making.  The day will feature four sessions covering regional and basin-scale approaches to integrated water management along with the challenges and opportunities in managing large, contested river basins.  A diverse panel of practitioners and academics will share their perspectives on a range of river systems -- large and small, urban and rural -- in California, Oregon, Europe and the western U.S.  The workshop allows ample time for discussion and is limited to 25 participants to encourage dialogue and exploration of key themes regarding the role of scale in water management.
