The program will provide the opportunity to study at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, a university renowned for its focus on the integration of basic scientific research with industrial applications. SAGE fellows will participate in research and coursework in the technical aspects of sustainability as well as ways to implement such practices into business and policy throughout the EU. They will be working through the Chalmers’ Division of Environmental Systems Analysis, which coordinates a number of projects in research, development, and industrial collaboration. In addition, SAGE fellows will have the opportunity to work with the International Chemical Secretariat (ChemSec), a European NGO that focuses on implementing sustainable practices in both the public and private spheres.
Through the Chalmers’ Division of Environmental Systems Analysis, SAGE fellows will be able to combine coursework and research in environmental performance in the chemical industry with projects applying toxicology and chemical knowledge. In addition, through ChemSec’s partnership with Chalmers’ University, SAGE fellows will be able to relate their research and projects to the development and implementation of green energy in the EU.
SAGE fellows will be working with is Professor Sverker Molander from the Division of Environmental Systems Analysis, whose research interests include environmental systems with a focus on ecological and social indicators related to environment and sustainability.
