Management

The SAGE IGERT will be managed through coordinated efforts of: (1) an Executive Committee, chaired by the PI and with specific core programmatic roles for each of its faculty directors—research focus, education/curriculum, recruitment/admissions, and communication/dissemination; (2) an Internal Advisory Committee, comprised of key UC Berkeley faculty and senior staff to provide critical support in program linkage, mentorship, diversity, and evaluation decisions; (3) an External Advisory Board (EAB) to provide guidance and perspective on making operational the program’s research and educational output and on its linkage to the California and national chemicals policy communities; and (4) a Student Committee to provide feedback on the SAGE IGERT’s management and educational effectiveness. Additionally, a consulting external evaluator will submit yearly reports on the SAGE IGERT’s progress, and internal, experimental evaluation of the program will be done in collaboration with the UC Berkeley College of Education.
